It’s My Park Day - Spring 2025

For all the 65 friends and neighbors who joined It’s My Park Day!! #itsmyparkday #austinparks

Y'all were amazing today! So much TLC was given to the park and as usual, we accomplished so much by working together...and we had a good time too.

Together we managed to:

—Eat nearly all the breakfast tacos from Eldorado Café!
—Begin root collar clearing to excavate the bases of tree trunks from too much mulch build up…a very good thing.
—Spread 20 cubic yards of mulch to fewer trees but with wider drip-line permitters…also a good thing.
—Fully edge the sand volleyball court, and we’ll see about a fresh load of sand for the court.
—Weed and freshen up the main sign bed, the Shelton memorial bed, and the pool planting beds.

After IMPD, a few of us decided that a Garden Club might be a good idea to better keep these planting beds under control, rather the Bermuda grass in the planting beds. You’ll see more on this effort as we make progress.

IMPD doesn’t happen without ALL OF YOU, so thank you! Also, IMPD doesn’t get started without amazing breakfast tacos from the Fried family at Eldorado Cafe.
